Barbara’s Flower   Leave a comment

Barbara’s Flower is the title of this one.
You see… I know this girl. She is kinda awesome and I like her a lot. Her favorite flower is the yellow daffodil because she says it lets her know spring is finally coming.
I planted a few yellow daffodils in my front yard the year I met her. Over the years through mowing, children at play, various gardening activities not related to flowers, and survival of the fittest (the daffodils needed to compete with blackberry bushes) they have all died away.
All except one little clump that is.
So every year as the weather starts to warm that little clump of yellow daffodils pops up and makes me think of Barbara.
In my mind these yellow decorations of spring are no longer even called daffodils. I see them and my first thought is “Barbara’s flowers.”
Barbara's Flower yellow daffodil painting
This painting is acrylics on stretched canvas measuring twelve inches both upwards and downwards.
You can get prints of this expressive little daffodil painting HERE via Fine Art America.

I did a really sweet remix of this painting too for my Society6 Portfolio. I made it available on throw pillows, tote bags, coffee cups, and a whole bunch more sweet stuff. It is also obviously available as a cool print or poster.

Non related – For new people on my art blog… I’ve noticed a lot of new visitors hitting my site via links and mentions from other art blogs/bloggers (who obviously have good taste) and I figured I should mention that almost anytime you see a picture on my blog it is a link to a larger version of the picture.
For example… Just click the little picture of Barbara’s Flower (the daffodil painting if you haven’t been reading along) and it will bring you to a larger more detailed image of the painting.
Also – If you see little buttons at the bottom of a post along with the words “It’s nice to share” please do so if you feel inclined. I really appreciate it when people share my original posts here on Artistic Flow.
Lastly – Thank you all for supporting me as an artist.
I have been very lucky in general to have always been able to scratch out my living via visual arts. I have only been able to do so because of people like you who enjoy and appreciate what I do.
Buying my art, buying prints, commissions, etc, and in the last few years buying odds and ends via all the POD sites I have been messing with. The rising of the internet and sites like Society6 and RedBubble have completely changed the game for people who doodle a lot like me. I can truly say I never would have thought I’d be offering up my artwork on items like Wall clocks 20 years ago.
