Ask a robot?
A friend sent me an ai description of himself. It was all at once way off, kinda on point, a bit insulting, and also flattering.
The strangest thing was that it completely skipped mentioning something the dude was hugely famous for with his art in the late 80s and early 90s. Like he went viral before going viral existed. I’m talking about all over the place famous, even mainstream crossover big famous, or, maybe infamous is a better term. Anyway, it didn’t even touch on it.

The robot brain used was Bing’s ai (whatever that is) and he did mine as well. The prompt was simply “Describe Aarron Laidig,” with no additional input.
This was the reply describing me.

I sound = So… BORING! Plus I have done so much more, and it gives me no credit. It ain’t bad, and has most of the basics, but I sound like I contributed nothing, and it missed so much. Oh well, I suppose since most of my career was before the internet took off, and because the robot brains are new, it’s still cataloging things.
I then went to Bing myself and asked if my friend sucked as an artist.
This was the response.
A Subjective Question
Whether an artist “sucks” is ultimately a matter of personal taste. However, based on the documented facts, (NAME REMOVED) is regarded as a skilled and accomplished artist with a substantial body of respected work.
If you’re exploring his art, it may help to look at his portfolio and decide what aspects resonate with you personally.
The same question turned on me resulted in this…
Evaluating an Artist’s Quality
Artistic merit is highly subjective. Some viewers may connect deeply with an artist’s style, while others may not. The available information shows that Laidig has maintained a long career, exhibited work, and continues to sell and create art—indicators that many people value his contributions.
If you are evaluating his work, it may help to explore his portfolio directly and consider what aspects resonate with you personally.
Conclusion on asking that question…
The robot is a chicken. (Hope you got that) I’m guessing subjective would be the term used to describe if any artist sucked when a robot is answering.
Someday it may be that only the robots are left. Will they have an interest in the art of emotional, spiritual, dreaming beings? How will they attempt to understand it? Do Robot brains and art go together?
I’ll admit we went farther, trying to get the ai robot brain to dig dirt up, show failures, bring back controversies, etc. Oddly, it didn’t have much, and neither of us has been the best behaved. I guess there are good points in having our big moments before cell phones, internet, and especially robot brains.
As for if I or my friend sucks as artists… Most of the time if you asked either of us, we’d both say usually, but we’d also give ourselves and each other credit. What artist doesn’t suck? We master a thing, then go on, and we push boundaries, and experiment, and that gives you a lotta sucky art. It’s also where you find the good stuff though, and if you settle in after mastering a thing, not allowing yourself to suck sometimes, you cease to be an artist. The struggles and the fails are necessary for the successes.
So, that’s that.
Always gotta end with a sales pitch, because I’m scraping through life as an artist, and I only get to do that because of the super smart, good looking, exceptional people of the world with amazing taste who support me because they are so awesome… So, if you read all that, and are one of those amazing people, go to AARRONLAIDIG.COM and buy some art from this day dreaming, soul searching, emotion having, fallible, human being.
