Crystals and moonflowers

I was planning on being done with my quartz crystal tattoos, but… I had someone in my life from the very beginning telling me I should do some sitting in a base of flowers. Visually I liked the idea, but I needed meaning.
Someone else then mentioned wanting a moon garden. If you’re interested in my creative process here is a video of me doing the first sketch as I think this idea out. (YouTube link)

So, the deal on this one is just this = Quartz crystals of your choice in moonflowers. Unlike the other crystal tattoo special deals, I’m not limiting this except that the smallest I’ll do for the deal is four inches in height. There is no size limit in the other direction. Go as big and fancy as you like.
Because I’m not limiting size and allowing customization to a point I can’t price them as I did with the other crystal deals, so I’m simply going with a half price deal. Yep, just cutting my regular rates in half for this one. So, going big is a good idea if you’re into it.

Customization limits for this deal are basically you can’t have other flower types. It must be moonflowers.
Besides that it’s up to my discretion, but pretty open. Add some pretty moths, stars, a fairy creature, owls, whatever… use your imagination. I’ll continue with the half rates as long as this idea is center and the style is maintained. Expand it into a full thigh or sleave even if you like. The minimum on this one is $100. which would get you a $200-ish tattoo. Simple?

Here are the drawings I did as examples for this one.

Here is the FB advert I made from them.
I’m assuming that is how you got here.

I’ll draw new ones for each person, original and different in the same style.

Also, if you like these, but don’t want a tattoo, you can get a sticker of the rose quartz design HERE.
and a sticker of the amethyst quartz crystal one HERE.

This deal will end along with all my crystal stuff November 1st. Get it started before then if you are down. I’ll then be moving on to other things finally.

That’s it folks.
Below this I’ll babble a bit about moon flowers. Nothing to do with tattoos, so only continue on if you are interested in the moonflowers.

The fancy pants name is Ipomoea alba (had to look that up) and the common name is white tropical morning glory, aka the moonflower. It is a species of night-blooming morning glory that grows in the warm and wet areas of North and South America.

We have other night blooming flowers like Evening Primrose, Queen of the Night Cactus, Foamflowers, and Evening Rain Lilies, but the moonflower is the most famous and cool in the moonlight.
the moonflower blooms at dusk and each bloom lasts for only one night. The blossoms are large, seven or eight inches usually, and they smell like sweet jasmine. If you wanted a more magical night flower I can’t imagine what you are looking for.
If you want to get witchy with it… they are toxic too.
I should note here that though they are famously white, they can be blue and they have a relative called the blue moonflower which is a darker blue and also blooms at night.

Moonflowers are considered bringers of mystery, magic, and romantic love.
They are symbolic of transformation, new beginnings, and blossoming and hope in dark or difficult times.
For obvious reasons moonflowers are thought to help with connecting with lunar energies and the natural cycles of the moon.

Many people believe that quartz crystals can be charged by moonlight.
The trick is to set them in the light of the moon overnight. Full moons are best, but moonlight at any time will charge them up with energy.
Usually the crystal is cleansed before charging. There are various methods, but using a selenite bowl is currently the most popular because (in my opinion) it takes no effort.
Setting your crystals in this bowl and placing them near moonflowers amplifies the moons light in the vicinity of the crystals. Those moonflowers will actually look like they are glowing as they open btw.
All of this allows the crystals to absorb more lunar energy. Now you get why I chose them for this project.

So is any of this real? It’s real myth and many really believe. The belief is what scientists who’ve studied it think is the cause of measurable results. The placebo effect. The science community considers all of this to be pseudoscience.
Interestingly the science community has long known of the piezoelectric effect tied to quartz crystals. Temperature changes, pressure changes, vibration, etc. causes electrical charges. Crystals have been used in many applications because of this, but not in the way people into metaphysics and the like claim.

Another point of interest to me is that when it comes to psychology and feelings of well being, quartz crystals are often more effective than pharmaceuticals or therapy when it comes to looking at the results. From a science based viewpoint that would mostly be from the placebo effect. Crystals can hold an aesthetic and spiritual value for many people, helping with a deeper connection to nature. That in itself is a huge indicator of lower stress. They are also proven to help with focus for meditation purposes, and again that is something that brings about better mental health.
The science community sees results, but can only guess at they why if they try to go beyond “It’s all in the mind.”

If you forgot why you were here from reading all of that… it started with tattoos. If you are into it, message me either through my RED REGION TATTOOS Facebook Page. Or through my personal Instagram.
