Overwhelmed would be a better description.<br \/>\nI felt I must however make some sort of post today though because it is National Dance Day today and I have been doing a lot of dance themed art of late.<br \/>\nSo&#8230; here it is.<br \/>\nTitle = Dreams of the big city<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/2015\/07\/dreams-of-the-big-city\/dreams-of-the-big-city-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3560\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Dreams-of-the-big-city-250x250.jpg\" alt=\"Dreams of the big city dance painting\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Dreams-of-the-big-city-250x250.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Dreams-of-the-big-city-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Dreams-of-the-big-city-540x540.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Dreams-of-the-big-city.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIt is (in the image shown) cropped to 11&#8243;x11&#8243;, but the original is actually 12&#8243;x12&#8243; and on a stretched canvas.<br \/>\nI used acrylic paints. This was done in the style I like to call pop cubism.<br \/>\nMy idea here was to portray the idea of a dancer who is heading off or dreaming to head off to the big city to become a star. The idea is that she will make it no matter what and her big dreams will become a reality. She will take the city and nothing can stop her.<br \/>\nI like such dreams. I love such dreams when people have the drive to make it really happen.<br \/>\nYep&#8230; Dreams of the big city<br \/>\nYou can get prints of this fabulous little dance themed painting via <a href=\"http:\/\/fineartamerica.com\/featured\/dreams-of-the-big-city-aarron-laidig.html\">Fine Art America<\/a>.<br \/>\nYou can get an awesome remixed version via <a href=\"https:\/\/society6.com\/product\/dreams-of-the-big-city-remix-2_print?curator=alaidig\">Society6<\/a> which is available as a poster , prints, throw pillows, clock, phone case, shirts, and more.<br \/>\nVia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redbubble.com\/people\/laidig\/works\/15698853-dreams-of-the-big-city-remix\">RedBubble<\/a> you can see (and get if you wish) a more subtle and vastly different remixed version not just as a poster , but also on a skirt or leggings. Really fun stuff.<br \/>\nSo&#8230; I took the time to remix and upload those images to the various sites and then to make this post on Artistic Flow when I really should be drawing like a mad man to catch up on my backlog.<br \/>\nMy reason is not just because I have been doing a lot of dance themed paintings lately. It is because I very much enjoy watching dancers who have perfected their art. I find them magical and am sometimes awed by the amount of work many of these dancers have had to do to get to the level of dance they have achieved. I have much respect for the masters of dance.<br \/>\nThat is why I decided I could not skip posting something dance related here on Artistic Flow today.<br \/>\nTo all you who sweat daily to become such amazing dancers. Thank you.
