{"id":3457,"date":"2015-04-25T13:32:48","date_gmt":"2015-04-25T20:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/?p=3457"},"modified":"2015-04-25T13:38:07","modified_gmt":"2015-04-25T20:38:07","slug":"atomic-tangerine-twist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/2015\/04\/atomic-tangerine-twist\/","title":{"rendered":"Atomic Tangerine Twist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got this new FLUID hot press paper I wanted to try out and had no idea what to do on it.<br \/>\nI often end up doing these weird surreal dancer \/ yoga type images when I have no idea what to do for some reason and want to fiddle with new media.<br \/>\nFor this I used ink (both some wet stuff in a dip pen and some pigma pens) to see how the surface took them. I then used some watercolors. Cheap ass art advantage stuff from my local stationers which is just a couple blocks from my studio. I finished it off with some Sepia. Prismacolor sepia pencil to be specific. Don&#8217;t buy cheap sepia pencils or sticks folks. Get the good stuff. Cheap shit isn&#8217;t consistent. Always end up hitting a super hard chunk right when you are swooshing the thing across the paper.  I always use prismacolor for my pencil versions. Use a couple different ones for my raw sticks.<br \/>\nAnyways&#8230; here is what I made.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/2015\/04\/atomic-tangerine-twist\/atomic-tangerine-twist-on-artistic-flow\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3458\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Atomic-Tangerine-Twist-on-Artistic-Flow.jpg\" alt=\"Atomic-Tangerine-Twist-artwork\" width=\"500\" height=\"667\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Atomic-Tangerine-Twist-on-Artistic-Flow.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Atomic-Tangerine-Twist-on-Artistic-Flow-112x150.jpg 112w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Atomic-Tangerine-Twist-on-Artistic-Flow-187x250.jpg 187w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI ended up thinking &#8220;that is pretty darn sweet!&#8221;<br \/>\nPartially I think it was because I really had no idea what I was doing when I started. If I&#8217;d planned ahead it would have taken me half as long, but it also would have had a more staged feeling I think.<br \/>\nNever will know though.<br \/>\nAnyways&#8230; I also did two different remixes of this.<br \/>\nOne of them was specifically done for my <a href=\"http:\/\/society6.com\/product\/atomic-twist_print?curator=alaidig\" title=\"atomic twist on society6\">Society6<\/a> portfolio. It is cool so Check it out <a href=\"http:\/\/society6.com\/product\/atomic-twist_print?curator=alaidig\" title=\"Atomic Twist on Society 6 \">HERE<\/a>. I took a bit of the tangerine tones away for it though. The result was I re-titled it just &#8220;Atomic Twist.&#8221;<br \/>\nI was having fun playing with the image when I was getting it ready for Society^ so just kept fiddling around.<br \/>\nI ended up with a look I totally dig. If you just want the color, but not the rough texture I do not suggest these.
