{"id":2016,"date":"2013-02-09T11:15:33","date_gmt":"2013-02-09T19:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/?p=2016"},"modified":"2013-02-09T11:15:33","modified_gmt":"2013-02-09T19:15:33","slug":"troll-monster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/2013\/02\/troll-monster\/","title":{"rendered":"Troll Monster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another fun <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/tag\/random-tattoo-phone-pics\/\" title=\"random tattoo phone picture by Aarron in Port Angeles WA\">random tattoo phone picture<\/a> for ya.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/2013\/02\/troll-monster\/troll-monster-tattoo\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2017\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/troll-monster-tattoo-193x250.jpg\" alt=\"Troll monster tattoo by Aarron from random tattoo phone pics\" width=\"193\" height=\"250\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2017\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/troll-monster-tattoo-193x250.jpg 193w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/troll-monster-tattoo-116x150.jpg 116w, https:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/troll-monster-tattoo.jpg 455w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 193px) 100vw, 193px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; this isn&#8217;t really a troll monster at all.<br \/>\nIt is some sort of critter from an online game that the client is really into.<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t for the life of me recall what game currently, but I know it is a big one.<br \/>\nI do remember that it is one of the biggest in Europe and especially the Scandinavian countries according to the client.<br \/>\nThe artwork for this critter was mostly furnished by the client too, though I had to fiddle with it a bit to make it work as a tattoo with the detail level he wished.<br \/>\nIf you click the pic (or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarron.com\/flow\/?attachment_id=2017\" title=\"troll looking tattoo from online game\">HERE<\/a>) you can see it larger and note that the client asked for a lot of detail.<br \/>\nPlease excuse the grainy picture. It was the only decent one I had on my phone and I took no others.<br \/>\nI suppose I should have turned him the other direction to take the pic so the sun wasn&#8217;t so harsh on his arm and wouldn&#8217;t have created that soft grainy look.<br \/>\nOh-well&#8230; just glad I had decided to take a pic at all.<br \/>\nMy favorite parts of this tattoo (as far as doing it was concerned) was the scabbard for the critters dagger, the muscular arm, and the horns.<br \/>\nI also enjoyed creating the mouth quite a bit. It was overall a very fun tattoo because it needed a ton of detail, but also required a lot of hard edge work.<br \/>\nUsually details are faked in black work tattoos by manipulating shades. Portrait work for example rarely requires any small needle groupings at all, but appears detailed.<br \/>\nThis critter however was done with actual detailing.
