Futile Years ~   Leave a comment

Most beautiful of face, when she holds a smile
Making me pray it stays for a while,
Showing sparkles in the eye
That will vanish by and by.

So, since with her I spend my hours,
Offering up strong scented flowers,
and bringing jewels while bowing low,
I give my all to keep her aglow.

Now as the years drag on by
I wonder how things went so awry,
Hiding the tears of my life
Thusly unappreciated by my wife.
